Information for Players born in 2001
The coaches and managers of the 2001 group want to thank all the players and parents for all their endeavours since we began as a group more than 10 years ago. Friends made, skills learnt, some great rugby and lots of positive experiences.
Next season (2019 /20) it is time to move on the U20 group. Brendan Fanning leads this successful programme. The expectation will be to have a big group of coaches and players who take their rugby seriously but aim to be a happy group on and off the pitch. There will be two teams competing out of this squad who will train together regularly. Brendan is available at 0872518449 and he will welcome all players from Clontarf who commit to the U20s programme. Gym session will commence in July, pitch sessions are likely to begin in mid-August.
A couple of notes:
-Players cannot play at U20 level until they are 18 years of age. Players must re-register with the IRFU as they are no longer Youth & Mini Players so there will be some paperwork which must be completed.
– Players moving to U20 will also have to register as an adult member with Clontarf FC, under the heading of student or playing member, membership portal below https://clontarfrugby.membergrip.com/membergrip/login.xhtml
– Players born between July 1 2001 and December 31 2001 are eligible to play Youth Rugby at the 18.5 Grade. Clontarf intend to have a team at this age grade next season. If a player chooses this option please contact Paul McDermott at 0876486295. This is important as the coaches need to know numbers early in the season; maintaining a squad at the grade requires commitment from a core group.
