Scandinavian pop sensations AHA played a secret gig in Coventry on Tuesday night to the 200 or so gathered fans. We sent our man Mike Walls out to see what all the fuss was about. Over to you Mike….
Arriving at the Old Shepherd pub you would have been forgiven for believing that Chantelle from the Big Brother house was in town or indeed that Dennis Wise had been spotted celebrating his wonder goal from the weekend. Out to celebrate my girlfriend Deirdre‘s birthday we arrived at the pub in advance of the 7.30pm start. When the group finally came on stage, the predominantly female crowd went berserk, raising the roof on the small venue. Playing a number of tracks from their new album (available in all good record stores!) plus a couple of their 80’s classics, like ‘take on me’ the group entertained the fans, rolling back the years to when they played to sell out Arenas all over the world. To sum up it was a fantastic success and a great night out. Hats off to Mercia FM for the concept, who’s next that’s what we want to know? Mike and Deirdre on the road for Cov RFC |
