Old Belvedere 21 Clontarf  10
Clontarf hit their first speed bump of the season against a motivated and efficient Old B side in Anglesey Rd on Saturday. After a blistering start, which saw Martin Dufficy in for the opening try under the posts, Clontarf became more and more ragged and seemed to fall foul of the referee on every occasion that they threatened the home sides line. Unfortunately the frustration boiled over and in what seemed an innocuous incident involving some front row tummy bumping Clontarf prop Barclay got a red card. This didn’t help the away sides composure and with Andy Dunne playing a superb cameo role at 10 for Old B the writing was on the wall.
Despite this loss we have qualified as a runner up for the quarter finals of the Leinster Senior League Cup. We are due to play Navan away on Tuesday 22nd September at 7.30 pm.
