3rd A’s capture the league title

With one game in hand the 3rd A’s captured their league title with a bonus point win at home to a spirited Monkstown team on Sunday last. The Average Joe’s took to the field knowing a five point win would close the door on second placed Barnhall. In a scrappy first half ‘Tarf finally made the break through with out half Graham Johnson going over the line after a winding run. Scrum half Ronan O’Reilly added a penalty to give an 8-0 lead at half time. Three more second half tries with Trent Dickinson, who barrelled over in the corner after a mazy run up the flank was followed by a bull dozing charge from second row Willie Ball. The five points were sealed when Dave Moore drove over after some great work from the pack. With an unbeaten run so far the 3rd A’s will be looking to keep that record intact for their next match at home to DLSP (date tbc) followed by a cup tie at home to Suttonians on March 9th.

Congrats to Manager James O’Flynn and all the 3rd A’s squad for all their hard work during the year.
