A & B Teams Leinster Plate Championship Table

Important issue please read.

Due to our Squad sizes and the Leinster Branch rules this season it will be necessary to select teams ahead of our matches. The reason for this is that teams are only allowed a maximum of 23 players on a panel and at present we have far more than that on both our teams. As result there are weekends whereby some players will not be selected to play a match. We will endeavour to insure that a player will only have to miss one game during the season based in this.

Between our League and Cup matches trying to find free dates to play fixtures is becoming a problem as a result the dates listed below are subject to change.

Leinster League & Cup Fixtures 2017

  • League Fixture 26thth February : Clontarf A V Greystones A – Time – See above

  • League Fixture26thth February : Wicklow V Clontarf B – Time  – See above

  • Cup Fixture – 5th March : Clontarf A V Greystones B – Time & Venue TBC

  • Cup Fixture – 5th or 12th March : Clontarf B V Malahide RFC or Balbriggan RFC – Time & Venue TBC

  • League Fixture -TBC  March : Terenure V Clontarf A – Time TBC

  • League Fixture -TBC  March : Clontarf B V *Old Wesley – Time TBC

*Bective Rangers & Old Wesley have amalgamated to form a team called Donnybrook

  • League Fixture12th March : Clontarf A V Malahide – Time TBC

  • League Fixture12th March : Clonatrf B V St Marys – Time TBC

All the above fixtures are subject to change and all time will be confirmed the week before each game.

TRAINING

WEDNESDAY : 6pm to 7.15pm on the Clubs All Weather Pitch.

SUNDAY : 10am to 11.15am Mount Temple College. Parents are to use the entrance off the Howth road (old Squash Ireland Entrance) where there is plenty of parking. The school has asked that we tell our parents and visiting teams that dogs are NOT allowed on the school’s premises.

The times listed for training above are not a guide. Kids MUST arrive on time so as not to miss the warm up.  They WILL get injured if not warmed up correctly.

This season we are moving up to 15 aside games on full size pitches. We will also be streaming our squads based on the same system as before which is our 3 x A’s

  • Attendance at training and matches……

  • Attitude to your coaches, team mates, opposition and match officials…..

  • Ability to master the game of rugby.

UNDER 13’s NEW MEDICAL PROTOCOL

This season any player who receives a knock to the head or is involved in any incident where by the head is thrown around  during training or matches will me immediately removed from play and must sit the rest of the session/match out. As soon the player is removed the parent will contacted straight away.

We strongly encourage all players and parents to have a better understanding of concussion. Concussion can pose a significant risk to the well being of players if not managed effectively.

Please use the following link to the IRFU website www.irishrugby.ie/concussion and fimilarise yourself with the signs, symptoms and management of concussion. I would ask that you share Junior Player video with your child to ensure that they too understand concussion.

All-Weather Pitch Protocols

The permitted footwear for the all-weather pitch and training area is boots with moulded rubber studs or rubber / steel screw-in studs.

Your Sons Coaches

At under 12’s we encourage all parents to lend a hand from the side line. Only qualified IRFU coaches will be allowed to coach the kids. This is a rule we at under 12’s have decided to implement in the interest of all players safety and welfare. The training courses all coaches at under 12’s have taken not only cover the game of rugby but aspects of child welfare in relation to dealing with kids in sport. As a result please don’t be upset if you are asked to take a step back…

STAY TUNED FOR MORE UPDATES.

Regards, Philip & Rory.
