An evening with Nigel Owens takes place on Tuesday 22nd April at 8pm sharp in Clontarf Rugby Club.
‘I hope you two are not sharing a room on the tour’ – This was the start of his talk with Leinster’s Sean O’Brien and Osprey’s Alun-Wyn Jones when some handbags broke out as Leinster hosted Ospreys in the RDS before the two forwards were due to go on the Lions Tour 2013.
Munster v Treviso (2012) – Owens called Treviso scrum half Tobias Botes aside;
‘I don’t think we met before but I am the referee on this field; not you. Stick to your job and I will do mine. If I hear you shouting for anything again I’m going to be penalising you. This is not soccer. Is that clear? Back you go!’
So, on the evening before Nigel Owens takes charge of Clontarf V The Barbarians he is our guest speaker in the club. The event is a fantastic opportunity to come and enjoy Nigel’s wit and on field experiences. He is a stand up comic in his spare time and it promises to be a great evening.
