TARF TO FACE LANSDOWNE IN LEINSTER LEAGUE CUP FINAL
18/11/2008
CALL UP FOR CLONTARF'S 16TH MAN !
Clontarf, having beaten St Mary's in the semi-final last Saturday, take on Lansdowne, this Friday at 6.30pm in Donnybrook, as we defend our Leinster Crown.
With just two minutes remaining on the Templeville Road clock and the score locked at 10 all, extra time looked inevitable.
However, one of Clontarf's newest recruits, Michael Keating stunned Mary's and thrilled the Tarf support with a classic try, to add to Max Rantz-McDonald's two first-half touch-downs.
Those anxiously calculating what extra-time would do to their later appointment in Croke Park, could again breathe easy and when Martin Dufficy, another 2008 signing, slotted it over to quell the nerves further, the Tarf support were able to make their way back northwards with time to spare for a quick one (or two) in celebration.
This Friday, let's hope for the safe return of the silverware to Castle Avenue, aided by the reknowned 16th man!
