Clontarf pip Trinity at death!

Trinity 11 Clontarf 14
Clontarf overcame a strong Trinity side in a game wholly appropriate to the prevailing weather conditions; dull and dark. The packs bashed each other for the afternoon with Trinity gaining the plaudits for stopping the Clontarf maul and Clontarf returning the compliment by negating the Trinity backrow off the scrum.
The game was dominated by defense with only Donovan Rossi’s second half try for Clontarf to lighten the dour mood. The biggest cheer of the day went to replacement and stand in coach Dan Van Zyl who slotted the winning goal with the last kick of the game when Trinity conceded a penalty after losing control of the ball at the back of their scrum.
With other results going our way Clontarf are top of Division 1 by 3 points with two home games to follow in the next two weeks.
