Oh Dear …Oh Dear …………OH DEAR!!

What a performance ….surely the first half performance by Clontarf in the Leddin Finance Leinster Senior Cup last Sunday ranks with the worst seen in recent times. I suppose if you are going to have a shocker you might as well have it in a final with a large crowd watching.

Old Belvo took the old trophy and were worthy winners if just for the fact that they were able to do the simple things well when going forward and defend with passion when in reverse. Andy Dunne fulfilled all expectations with the boot and scored eleven of his sides points to add to a scrappy try scored right on half time.

It would be inappropriate to name some of the Clontarf players given that some performances were abject. It does have to be pointed out, though, that given the amount of time and effort the players put in to training , conditioning , recovering from injury etc etc it seem s hard to believe that the team could conjure up so many shambolic errors in one game. Needless to say the team was as disappointed as the supporters who turned up.

It was a day to forget…….
