Clontarf played reasonably in the first half. It was looking good at half time when they trailed 6-3, with the benefit of the wind to come in the second half.

However nothing happened in the second half, and the score stayed at 6-3 until about 5 mins were left on the clock.

Blackrock made a break down the left hand side (stand side of pitch towards club house), and finished extremely well scoring under the posts.

This acted as a catalyst for Clontarf, and finally the game came to life.

Daragh McElligott cut through the Blackrock centres, hit the deck and quick ruck ball gave Dara Higgins a chance to run at his opposite number.

This he did extremely well, beating him on the outside to score a try far out on the right hand side of the pitch. (other end to club house).

Daragh O Shea stepped up and slotted the conversion, bringing Clontarf back within 3 points of Blackrock, with seconds left to play.

Sadly it was not to be, and Clontarf travel back across the Liffey without securing the 4 points.

Dave Moore, Andy Wood and Andy Cullen impressed, however Clontarf not play as well as they are capable of. They lost too many balls in contact or through sloppy handling.......
